NEW JERSEY — A Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey matched enough numbers in the Monday, March 9 drawing to win a $50,000 prize, according to lottery officials.
The winning numbers for the March 9 Powerball drawing were 22, 23, 28, 36, 54, with the Powerball number 13. The Power Play multiplier was 3x. The drawing featured an estimated jackpot of $47 million, with a cash value of $21.7 million.
While no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the New Jersey ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball, earning the $50,000 prize. Lottery officials have not yet released details about where in New Jersey the winning ticket was purchased.
Powerball drawings are held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. The jackpot will continue to roll over for the next drawing as players across the country try their luck at winning the growing prize.
New Jersey lottery officials encourage all players to check their tickets carefully and sign the back of any winning ticket before claiming their prize.
