Officials said the winner purchased a VIP Millions scratch-off ticket at a Certified Oil gas station located on Main Street in Groveport. After scanning the ticket, the man initially believed he had won $500,000, but later realized the prize amount was $50,000.
After state and federal taxes totaling 26.75%, the winner will receive approximately $36,625.
According to lottery officials, the man plans to use the winnings to pay off his new truck.
