OHIO — A months-long police operation surrounding a Fairfield nightclub has resulted in 40 arrests, according to authorities.

Police said the operation was launched in response to violence connected to the Sabor Peruano Night Club, including two shootings in the past two months.

Investigators determined that many of those involved were in the country illegally, leading Fairfield Police to request assistance from federal immigration and law enforcement officers.

The coordinated effort resulted in 40 people being arrested and taken to the Butler County Jail. Sheriff Richard Jones said most of those arrested are in the country illegally.

In a statement, the Fairfield Police Department emphasized its commitment to public safety, saying it supports local businesses but “will not tolerate behavior that compromises public safety.”

Police also noted that despite repeated concerns, the club’s owners have not addressed ongoing issues. The department said it will continue monitoring the area and allocating resources to ensure community safety.
