OHIO — A tragic car crash in Ashtabula County on Friday claimed the life of a 4-year-old girl.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Sexton Road and Clay Street.
An SUV traveling south on Sexton Road stopped at a stop sign before pulling into the path of a westbound Jeep driven by a 16-year-old.
The Jeep struck the SUV, authorities said.
The 4-year-old girl, who was seated in the back of the SUV, was transported to a hospital where she later died.
Both drivers were uninjured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
