OHIO — A lucky stop at Meyer’s Garage and Drive Thru in Fort Loramie turned into a life-changing moment for one Ohio Lottery player, who recently won the $300,000 top prize on the $10 Feeling Lucky scratch-off ticket.
The winner, who occasionally plays the Lottery, said she felt compelled to purchase the ticket.
After scratching it, she asked another customer in the store to look it over because she wasn’t sure she had read it correctly. A quick scan confirmed the prize.
After federal and state taxes, the winner, identified as Ericia, will take home about $216,000. She said she has not yet made plans for the money but will be meeting with a financial planner to decide her next steps.
Meyer’s Garage and Drive Thru, located on State Route 66, will receive a $3,000 sales bonus for selling the winning ticket.
According to the Ohio Lottery, six top prizes remain on the Feeling Lucky game as of August 21. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.83.
Since its founding in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education programs across the state.
