$300,000 lottery ticket winner sold in Ohio

OHIO — A lucky customer at Par Mar #111 in Chillicothe is celebrating a major win after hitting the $300,000 top prize in the Ohio Lottery’s new $5 Special Edition Cashword scratch-off game.

The winning ticket was purchased at the convenience store located at 21 Star Drive.

The winner, who has not been publicly identified, beat long odds of 1 in 1.67 million to claim the top prize.

After federal and state tax withholdings, the winner will take home approximately $216,000.

Par Mar #111 will also receive a $3,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

There are still three top prizes remaining in the Special Edition Cashword game, along with a range of other prizes. The overall odds of winning a prize in the $5 game are 1 in 4.11.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to support education in the state. For more information, visit www.ohiolottery.com/supportingeducation.
