ARKANSAS — A months-long investigation into drug trafficking in central Arkansas has resulted in the arrest of 27 suspects accused of distributing large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
The Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) began investigating the drug operation in September 2023.
During the probe, the DEA conducted multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl, intercepted phone calls, and seized 19 firearms along with a pound of fentanyl.
Authorities also confiscated over $100,000 in illegal proceeds.
This morning, law enforcement officers arrested 27 of the 29 individuals named in a federal superseding indictment unsealed today.
The suspects face charges including conspiracy to distribute and possess fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, as well as firearms-related offenses.
Additionally, six defendants were charged with money laundering.
Authorities identified Eric Dillard, 44, and Jimmie McDaniels, 49, both of Little Rock, as the leaders of the operation.
Dillard was already in federal custody due to a previous indictment filed against him on September 11, 2024.
The arrested individuals are scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, March 13.
