23-year-old woman indicted for role in Ohio street takeovers

CLEVELAND — A 23-year-old woman has been indicted for her role in a series of street takeovers in Cleveland, which involved dangerous stunts, fireworks, and disrupted public services.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley announced Monday that Ashlyn Rogers faces charges for organizing and participating in seven street takeovers on September 28 and 29.

According to officials, Rogers led and coordinated the takeovers by providing instructions and new locations to participants through her Instagram accounts.

She was reportedly present at a takeover near West 25th Street and Lorain Avenue, driving her white 2020 Infiniti Q50.

In addition to Rogers, 20-year-old Tyrique Loury of Garfield Heights and Jordan McDonald were also indicted.

Prosecutors allege that the two men participated in all seven takeovers, including incidents near East 55th Street and Woodland Avenue, East 105th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and the I-90 freeway.

McDonald’s gray 2023 Dodge Charger was seen performing burnouts and donuts at each location.

The takeovers reportedly blocked intersections, prevented emergency vehicles from passing, and endangered public safety.

Fireworks were set off, a police car was vandalized, and participants allegedly wore masks and brandished firearms. During the event, an officer was injured by an airsoft gun, and three men were struck by gunfire.

Rogers, arrested on October 22, has been indicted on charges including aggravated riot, disrupting public service, and possession of criminal tools.

Loury, arrested October 23, and McDonald, arrested October 15, face multiple counts including aggravated riot, failure to comply, and tampering with evidence.
