TENNESSEE — A Kingsport man is facing multiple animal cruelty charges after police discovered 22 dogs living in what they described as “unsanitary and inhumane conditions.”
According to the Kingsport Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Rose Street on December 1. Inside the residence, officers found the dogs living in conditions authorities said were not safe or sanitary.
PetWorks was contacted and removed the dogs from the home over several days.
Police identified the owner as 43-year-old Stephon States. He was arrested and charged with 22 counts of animal cruelty and one count of resisting arrest. States was taken to the Kingsport City Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
