FLORIDA — One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marion County Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened just before noon on County Road 315. Investigators say a sedan crossed into the opposite lane and struck an oncoming pickup truck head-on.
A 21-year-old male passenger in the pickup truck from Fort McCoy died at the scene. The driver of the sedan sustained serious injuries, and the driver of the pickup truck was critically injured. Both were transported for medical treatment.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
