SOUTH CAROLINA — An Upstate South Carolina man is celebrating a $200,000 lottery win—and hoping for an even bigger one.

The man won the prize from a $5 Big Wins Extra Play! scratch-off ticket purchased at the Hot Spot on North Howard Avenue in Landrum.

He beat the 1-in-780,000 odds to claim the game’s final top prize.

Despite the win, he’s not done playing. He plans to try his luck again in tonight’s $140 million jackpot drawing, which has odds of roughly 1 in 290 million.

The winner said he shared his $200,000 prize with his church and family, but joked that the next win will be all his.

The Hot Spot #2035 store received a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
