OHIO — Although no one hit the $547 million Mega Millions jackpot in Tuesday’s drawing, plenty of Ohio players still walked away with winnings.
The winning numbers for the Oct. 7 drawing were 17, 26, 33, 45 and 56, with the Mega Ball number 19.
Across Ohio, prizes ranged from $10 to $20,000. According to the Ohio Lottery, there was one $20,000 winner, one $5,000 winner, two $2,000 winners, three $1,500 winners, and three $1,000 winners.
Smaller prizes were more common, with hundreds of players winning between $400 and $1,000, and thousands claiming prizes of $10 to $25.
In total, more than 11,000 prizes were awarded across the state.
The Mega Millions jackpot now rises to an estimated $575 million for the next drawing on Friday, Oct. 10. The cash option for that jackpot is $264.6 million.
Lottery officials also noted that the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot have slightly improved, now standing at one in 290,472,336, compared to the previous odds of one in 302,575,350.
