20-year-old dead following crash on I-75 in Ohio

ALLEN COUNTY — A 20-year-old Cincinnati man died Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 North at the State Route 696 overpass.

The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 8:37 p.m.

Investigators determined that a white 2012 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Cole M. Kennedy, was traveling northbound when it veered off the right side of the road while negotiating a left curve.

The vehicle struck the concrete support for the overpass.

Kennedy sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Ohio Department of Transportation, Beaverdam-Richland Fire & Rescue, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and Blake’s Garage.

The crash remains under investigation.

  • Sounds like he may have dozed off and missed the curve. Really sad! Driver was so young. Prayers for his family.
