GEORGIA — Hinesville police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old child following what authorities believe was an accidental, self-inflicted shooting.
Officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Slade Street after receiving a report of a child with a gunshot wound. The child was transported to a local medical center, where they were later pronounced dead.
According to early information from investigators, the shooting appears to have been accidental. Detectives are continuing to gather details to determine exactly how the incident occurred.
