OHIO — A lucky lottery player in Licking County is celebrating after winning a $2 million prize on a scratch-off ticket.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the winner, identified as Dave in a press release, purchased the winning “$2,000,000 Cash Blast” ticket at the Jefferson Woods Duchess gas station on N. 21st Street in Newark.
Dave initially won $80,000 per year for 25 years but opted for the $1 million lump sum cash payout.
After mandatory federal and state taxes, he will take home $720,000, lottery officials said.
The $20 scratch-off game still has three top prizes of $2 million remaining, according to the Ohio Lottery.
Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot stands at $129 million, and the Powerball jackpot has climbed to $172 million as of Thursday night.
