OHIO — An Ohio resident is celebrating a life-changing win after claiming the top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s Maximum Millionsscratch-off ticket.

The winner opted for the $1 million cash payout instead of the annuity option, which would have provided $80,000 annually for 25 years.

After mandatory state and federal taxes, totaling 28%, the winner will take home $720,000.

The winning ticket was sold at Lorain Smokes and Beverage, located at 2111 N Ridge Road in Lorain.

Maximum Millions is a $20 scratch-off game offering a top prize of $2 million.

According to the Ohio Lottery, as of November 14, 2024, one top prize remains in the game.
