OHIO — A Metamora woman is celebrating a major Ohio Lottery win after claiming a top prize on a Scratch-Off ticket purchased in Fulton County.

Candace won a top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $300 Million Diamond Dazzler Scratch-Off game, which carries a prize of $80,000 a year for 25 years, totaling $2 million.

According to the Ohio Lottery, Candace initially believed the ticket was not a winner and scanned it using the Ohio Lottery mobile app to collect reward points. She was surprised when a winning message appeared on the screen and checked the ticket again to confirm the result.

Candace chose the $1 million cash option instead of the annuity. After state and federal taxes totaling 27.125 percent, she will receive $728,750.

The winning ticket was purchased at T Mart, located at 109 E. Main St. in Metamora. Candace said she plans to use the winnings to pay off her home.

The $300 Million Diamond Dazzler is a $20 Scratch-Off game. As of December 15, there are nine top prizes remaining statewide.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education. More information about the Ohio Lottery and its support of education is available at ohiolottery.com/supportingeducation.
