
INDIANA — A 19-year-old driver was killed in a head-on collision Friday morning that shut down part of State Road 37 near Harlan, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash happened in the 14300 block of Barnett Road and State Road 37, about a mile west of Harlan. Investigators said the car was traveling northeast on IN-37 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a flatbed truck traveling southwest.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
Indiana TrafficWise reported that both directions of State Road 37 were closed following the crash but were expected to reopen within the hour as of 9:43 a.m.
The sheriff’s department continues to investigate.
