
OHIO — One person is dead and another is in custody following a shooting early Sunday inside a Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority apartment building.
The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the CMHA apartments on East 98th Street, authorities said.
According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim, identified as 19-year-old Faith Fortune of Tiffin, died from a gunshot wound to the head. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
CHMA police said a 34-year-old man was arrested shortly after officers arrived. His name has not been released.
Cleveland police are leading the investigation and have not released additional information.
