ILLINOIS — A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night in Decatur, the Decatur Police Department reported Thursday morning.
Officers responded around 5:42 p.m. to a report of shots fired at a business in the 500 block of N. Water Street. Upon arrival, they found the young man with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are processing evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities said they are actively following leads.
