TENNESSEE — Nineteen people have been arrested after being indicted in a large undercover narcotics investigation conducted by the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit.
Police said the investigation targeted street-level drug sales across Memphis and ran from January 2023 through June 2025. During that time, undercover officers observed and documented suspected drug dealers engaging in criminal activity throughout the city.
Authorities presented evidence to a Shelby County grand jury on March 5, which returned indictments for 45 people connected to the operation.
Police said 19 of those suspects were located and arrested on March 11. According to investigators, 19 of the individuals indicted were documented gang members affiliated with groups including the Bloods, Crips, Vice Lords and Gangster Disciples.
The suspects range in age from 22 to 64 years old.
Investigators said the operation resulted in 367 chargeable offenses. Charges include manufacturing, delivering or selling controlled substances, including crack cocaine, powder cocaine, fentanyl and various pills.
Police also seized 19 vehicles that authorities say were used to transport illegal drugs. Officials said some of the suspects were convicted felons found to be in possession of firearms.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue efforts to locate the remaining suspects named in the indictments.
