18-year-old injured following shooting incident in Ohio

OHIO — An 18-year-old man was shot in the ankle while waiting at a bus stop early Sunday morning, according to Akron police.

Officers responded shortly after midnight on July 27 to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard. When they arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his ankle.

The teen told police he was at the bus stop when an unknown suspect began shooting at him.

He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General for treatment. His condition has not been released.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
