
LOUISIANA — An 18-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon following a domestic-related shooting along Columbus Dunn Drive, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Police said Kassidy Jackson was shot at approximately 2:08 p.m. Officers responded to the scene and found her suffering from a gunshot wound. Jackson was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries, police said.
Authorities reported that 19-year-old Paulisa Banks turned herself in to law enforcement following the shooting. Banks was booked on a charge of first-degree murder on Friday.
The incident marked the second domestic-related fatal shooting in the city on Thursday. Earlier that morning, Alfred Webester Hyams was killed in a separate domestic-related shooting on Alaska Street, police said.
Both cases remain under investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
