ILLINOIS — A teenager was killed and two others injured in a shooting Monday evening in Springfield, authorities said.
Springfield Police said officers responded at 5:51 p.m. to reports of gunfire near 14th Street and Cornell Avenue.
Three victims were found with gunshot wounds and transported to area hospitals. Two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the third, an 18-year-old from Rochester, was found unresponsive and later died at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at 6:52 p.m., according to Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon. An autopsy is scheduled.
