One person dead after crashing into tree in Ohio

OHIO — An 18-year-old Sylvania man died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Fulton County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:27 a.m. on County Road D near Birdsong Lane in Swan Creek Township.

Timothy L. Urbina Jr. was driving westbound when he lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road, and crashed into a tree after traveling through a field.

Urbina was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected as factors.

County Road D was closed for about 90 minutes but has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation.
