SOUTH CAROLINA — The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday the arrest of another suspect in an ongoing drug operation that began October 1.
Authorities said the investigation resulted in 35 warrants for 23 individuals, based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover officers. Confiscated substances included fentanyl, methamphetamine, and prescription medications.
As of Tuesday morning, 18 people had been arrested. One of the latest arrests was 24-year-old Candace Haley Blackwell of West Union, who faces a charge of distributing fentanyl in 2024.
Blackwell was transported from the Anderson City Jail to the Oconee County Detention Center on Monday and remains there on a $10,000 surety bond for the sheriff’s office charge. She was also served with a bench warrant, deputies said.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not indicated whether additional arrests are expected.
