17-year-old dead following vehicle crash in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — A 17-year-old has died following a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Florence County.

According to the Florence County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Railroad Avenue in Scranton.

The victim was identified as Aden Jumper of Mayesville.

Authorities say the crash involved a 2004 Chevrolet truck traveling south on Railroad Avenue. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch. Jumper was a passenger in the truck and died as a result of the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Florence County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
