17-year-old dead following motorcycle crash in Alabama

ALABAMA — A teenager from Albertville was killed and two others injured Monday in a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

The accident occurred around 5:58 p.m. on Pleasant Hill Road near Patterson Drive. A 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle left the roadway, striking a ditch. Both the driver and a 17-year-old passenger from Albertville were thrown from the motorcycle upon impact.

The motorcycle then collided with a 1999 Buick Century.

The teen passenger was airlifted to a nearby hospital but later died from their injuries. The motorcycle driver was also injured and taken to Huntsville Hospital. The Buick’s driver sustained injuries and was transported to Marshall Medical Center North.

ALEA troopers are continuing their investigation into the crash.
