FLORIDA — A 17-year-old is facing multiple charges, including manslaughter, following a weekend altercation that left a woman dead, according to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident occurred Saturday evening at a home on Dennis Howell Road. Deputies responded just before 7 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance with multiple people arguing.
A second 911 call was later made requesting emergency medical services for an unconscious woman, identified as 47-year-old Brandy Collins. Deputies arrived and attempted life-saving measures before Collins was transported to Doctors Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators identified the suspect as Trenton Williams, who is charged with manslaughter, child neglect, burglary and additional offenses in connection with the incident.
According to the sheriff’s office, Williams allegedly entered the property without permission, stole items from a vehicle and then drove away recklessly with a toddler inside the car. Witnesses told deputies he nearly struck Collins with the vehicle and made derogatory remarks before she later collapsed in the driveway.
Williams was later located, taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
