TENNESSEE — An investigation is underway in Clarksville after a shooting left a teenager injured, according to local law enforcement.

In a press release issued Saturday afternoon, Dec. 13, the Clarksville Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting that had already occurred in the Chinook Circle area. Police did not specify the exact time officers were dispatched to the scene.

Authorities said a 16-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh. The teenager was transported to Tennova Healthcare for treatment. Police said the injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

According to officials, a preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was not a random incident. Police also said there is no active threat to residents in the area or to the community at large. Officers remained on scene as the investigation continued.

Police are asking residents who live in the immediate vicinity of Chinook Circle and have outdoor security cameras to review their footage. Anyone who notices suspicious activity or believes they may have video that could assist investigators is urged to call 911.

No additional details about the shooting have been released.
