
KENTUCKY — A teenage girl was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by multiple vehicles while attempting to cross a roadway in west Louisville, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Officers responded around 6:50 a.m. to the area of Cane Run Road and Teakwood Circle in Louisville on a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicates a 16-year-old girl was attempting to cross Cane Run Road from west to east near Teakwood Circle when she was struck by three southbound vehicles. Authorities said the teen was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Investigators said the vehicles involved included a semi-tractor trailer, a passenger vehicle and an SUV.
Emergency medical services pronounced the girl dead at the scene. Police said all of the drivers involved remained at the location after the crash.
The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
