15 inches of snow expected in parts of Pennsylvania Wednesday

PENNSYLVANIA — Northwestern Pennsylvania is facing severe winter conditions as subzero wind chills and heavy lake-effect snow impact the region.

The National Weather Service reports that wind chill values this morning have dropped below zero, with Erie experiencing lows around -5°F to -7°F.

These dangerously cold temperatures are expected to persist through Wednesday night.

National Weather Service Graphic

Lake-effect snow will bring significant accumulation, particularly across Erie, Edinboro, and Corry, where totals could reach 8 to 12 inches by Wednesday.

Titusville and Meadville may see slightly lower amounts, ranging from 3 to 8 inches.

North East, PA could see up to 15 inches of snow.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel as snow-covered roads and blowing snow will create hazardous conditions.

Additionally, precautions should be taken to prevent frostbite in these bitterly cold temperatures.
