12 people injured following vehicle crash in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — A serious crash Tuesday morning shut down a stretch of Highway 52 between Lancaster and Paint Lick in Garrard County, sending multiple people to the hospital.

According to the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office, the crash prompted a large emergency response and led to the temporary closure of the highway while crews worked at the scene.

Garrard County EMS reported that 12 people were injured in the crash, though the extent of their injuries has not yet been released.

Authorities have not confirmed how many vehicles were involved or what may have caused the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials say more information will be released as it becomes available. Motorists were urged to avoid the area during the cleanup and investigation.
