OHIO — An 11-year-old was taken into custody Friday after authorities were alerted to online threats involving a local junior high school, police said.
The Lancaster Police Department said officers became aware of the threats late Thursday night and located the juvenile shortly afterward. Law enforcement took the child into custody without incident.
Officials stressed that at this time there is no known threat to students or the public, and school officials did not report any related incidents at General Sherman Junior High School.
No charges have been announced, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the messages. Additional details were not immediately available.
