FLORIDA — A federal grand jury has indicted 11 people for illegally reentering the United States after previous deportations, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida announced Thursday.
According to the attorney’s office, the indictments are part of Operation Take Back America, a federal immigration enforcement initiative. Authorities said three of the individuals were located in Okaloosa County, while others were found in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties during November and December 2025.
Among those indicted are Carlos Sanchez-Mendez, 35, of Mexico, who was located in Okaloosa County in November 2025 after previously being deported three times in 2010, 2014 and 2016. His plea and sentencing are scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026, before U.S. District Judge T. Kent Wetherell II. Also located in Okaloosa County were Jose Alberto Orozco-Sanchez, 45, and Nicolas Jorge-Garcia, 41, both of Mexico, each of whom is scheduled for trial Feb. 2, 2026, before U.S. District Judge M. Casey Rodgers.
Juan Ramos Salgado, 49, and Edgar Castaneda-Herrera, 45, both of Mexico, along with Carlos H. Solorsano Castellanos, 35, of Honduras, and Kevin A. Perez-Portillo, 31, of El Salvador, were located in Santa Rosa County. Several of those cases are set for pleas, sentencing, or trial hearings in January and February 2026.
Authorities said four others — Erlin Adonay Hernandez-Navas, 37, of Honduras; Allan Josue Sanchez-Lozano, 28, of Honduras; Leobardo Gomez-Lopez, 41, of Mexico; and Andres Martin Valdivia Moran, 43, of Mexico — were located in Escambia County. Court dates for those defendants range from January to February 2026.
Federal prosecutors said all 11 defendants are accused of illegally reentering the country after being formally deported in prior years. Each case will proceed separately in U.S. District Court.
