$100,000 Powerball ticket winner sold in Illinois

ILLINOIS — An Illinois-sold lottery ticket won a $100,000 prize in the Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 Powerball drawing, according to lottery officials.

The winning numbers drawn Monday night were 4, 18, 24, 51, 56, with Powerball number 14. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 2x. The Illinois ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball, and with the Power Play option applied, the prize increased to $100,000.

No ticket matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot, which was estimated at $88 million. The cash value option for the top prize was approximately $39.8 million.

Officials have not yet released information on where in Illinois the winning ticket was sold or the identity of the winner. Lottery officials advise winners to sign the back of their ticket immediately and contact the Illinois Lottery to begin the prize claim process.

The Powerball jackpot will roll over to the next drawing, continuing to climb as players nationwide try for the top prize.
