$1 million Powerball ticket winner sold in Ohio

OHIO — While no Ohio ticket claimed the $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot in the Christmas Eve drawing, lottery officials say thousands of Ohio players still won prizes.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the winning jackpot ticket from the Wednesday night, Dec. 24 drawing was sold in Arkansas. In Ohio, one ticket matched five numbers to win a $1 million prize. The ticket was sold at a Kroger store in Cincinnati.

The Ohio Lottery reported the following prizes were won statewide from the drawing:

  • One $1 million prize
  • Two $50,000 prizes
  • 337 prizes of $100
  • 5,007 prizes of $14
  • 59,563 prizes of $8
  • 11,642 prizes of $7
  • 139,568 prizes of $4

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 4, 25, 31, 52, and 59, with Powerball 19. The Power Play option was 2x.

With the jackpot now claimed, the Powerball prize resets to $20 million for the next drawing scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 27, at 10:59 p.m. The cash option for that drawing is $9.2 million.

Powerball officials say the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338, while the odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1 in 11,688,053.52.
