$1 million lottery ticket winner sold in Ohio

OHIO — An Ohio Lottery player recently struck it big, winning $1 million on the $1,000,000 Cash is King scratch-off ticket.

The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Eagle #4075, located at 1201 Doral Drive in Boardman. The lucky winner chose the $500,000 cash option.

After mandatory federal and state tax withholdings of 28 percent, the player will take home approximately $360,000.

The $1,000,000 Cash is King scratch-off is a $20 game offering a top prize of $40,000 annually for 25 years.

According to the Ohio Lottery, as of December 13, 2024, two top prizes remain available.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $32 billion to education across the state.
