OHIO — A North Canton resident has won big on the Ohio Lottery’s $50 scratch-off game, VIP Millions, claiming a top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years.

The winner chose the annuity option, which provides annual payments rather than a lump sum.

After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent, he will receive $28,800 each year for the next 25 years.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Spee-D-Foods, located at 9831 Cleveland Ave. NW in Greentown.

VIP Millions is one of the Ohio Lottery’s high-stakes scratch-offs, offering a top prize valued at $1 million over 25 years.

As of June 20, 32 top prizes remain available in the game.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to support education across the state. For more information, visit www.ohiolottery.com/supportingeducation.
